Crenshaw County Schools Hires Social Worker

Crenshaw County Schools is proud to announce our newest employee Bailey Hamlin. Ms. Hamlin will serve as our new county-wide Social Worker.

The State Department has recognized the importance of student wellness to the culture and climate of our district and the need for all efforts and services to be coordinated to ensure the success of our children. Ms. Hamlin will be available to work with students, staff, and families based on social-emotional learning and resources/referrals. She will be traveling to each of the district's three schools to provide support and coordinate mental health, crisis/student support interventions and group services focused on coping strategies and life skills.

Ms. Hamlin is currently a youth leader at Union Baptist Church in Honoraville. She has one daughter who attends Highland Home School and is engaged to Brandon Kilpatrick. She previously worked as a counselor at Beacon Behavioral Hospital in Luverne. Ms. Hamlin's additional work experience includes being the Bereavement Coordinator/Volunteer Coordinator at a hospice company called Compassus out of Troy and a Child Welfare Worker at Crenshaw County Department of Human Resources. Ms. Hamlin holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in social work from Troy University.

Ms. Hamlin says: "I am so excited to join the team and look forward to meeting students, faculty, and families to work towards success in our students."
